Trapped is a story of two teenagers trying to follow their dreams whilst dealing with the harsh reality around them.  The film highlights issues such as unemployment, family debt and peer pressure and follows the teenagers battling against these barriers as they learn about dreams, life and reality.

I particularly wanted to make a film about this to hit back against the stereotype of teenagers and show how many young people are determined to achieve good things in life, despite all the negativity surrounding them, but also to show how reality can restrict people’s dreams.

The private view for Trapped will be Tuesday 23rd November where i will be showing friends, family, cast and crew and many other people the finished product.

It will then be on exhibition for a week between 24th - 28th November at Maverick showrooms in Shoreditch before being entered into film festivals.

So filming was done on the weekend of the 9th and 10th. They were both very long, tiring days but were so much fun. Everyone that helped out was great, the actors/actresses were amazing and we all had so much fun on set. Also got some really good shots (the fight scene and park scenes in particular looked amazing!). I will upload the photos from the shoot once i get them.

Post production begins next week, got 5 days to edit it all, its gunna be a long process but it will all be worth it. Currently sorting out the music for the soundtrack for next week. Cant wait to see the finished product :)

So its a few days away from filming now, very excited but also a bit stressed from trying to get everything done. The last couple of weeks iv been really busy getting everything sorted. I got the locations, did some castings, made final changes to the script, brought some props and costumes and much, much more and now im almost ready for filming. Lets just hope the weathers good :)

Okay so filming is three weeks away now. I’ve been busy getting the cast together and finding locations etc. I’ve had my main actor whos playing Kane for a while now (who is really really good) so this week i started looking for my main actress Jasmine. I’ve had loads of girls contact me who were interested in the part and i think i’ve found the girl i want so i’m going to arrange a meeting with her to go through the script and see if it works.

I’ve also been looking at locations. I’ve found a sports shop for my sports shop scene and im currently in the process of finding a football stadium (that will let me film there for free or very cheap). I’ve also got to find a park and council estate which i am planning to do next week.

I’ve started shopping for props and make up for the film which is actually quite exciting. Everything is starting to come together now and i’m really looking forward to filming :)

Thought i would post a synopsis of my film to give you more of an idea of what it is about:

Trapped is an urban drama about two teenagers living in London who are trying to break out of their everyday cycle and find a better life for themselves. 18 year old Kane dreams of being a professional footballer and is determined to make it but finds no one around him believing in him or supporting him. His family want him to get a 9 to 5 like everyone else but Kane wants more out of life, he wants to be something. His old school friends are always hanging around getting up to no good and Kane tries to stay away, not get involved and stay focused on his dream but the boys don’t make this easy for him. 16 year old Jasmine has just left school and is planning to go to college to study fashion to work towards getting her dream job as a fashion designer. However, living on a council estate in east London, Jasmine and her family have always struggled with money troubles and when jasmine discovers her dads debt one day, she is torn between finding a job to help her dad or going to college and following her dream. The film follows both teenagers fighting against their everyday problems, struggling to stay on the right path and trying to break away from this lifestyle that they feel trapped in.

The script is coming along now too, trying to take my time on it though because in my opinion its better to take your time and get it right than rush and get it wrong :)
